High-quality ash wood

ATLAS axe handles are crafted from carefully selected ash wood, valued for its toughness, strength and excellent shock-absorbing properties. The wood undergoes a two-stage drying process: the sawn planks are first air-dried and then dried under computer-controlled conditions in a climate chamber. This controlled process helps minimise subsequent shrinkage, supporting a secure fit between the handle and axe head.

Natural Carnauba wax finish

The handle is finished with plant-based Carnauba wax, which helps protect the wood against moisture and dirt while preserving its natural, light colour. The wax finish also creates a smooth, comfortable surface that helps reduce friction during use and may help prevent blisters. Compared with traditional varnish or paraffin finishes, plant-based waxing offers an alternative with environmental benefits.
